LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a facelift, breast reduction, breast lift or a tummy tuck.

The results from liposuction can be dramatic for the right candidate. Liposuction is not considered a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. To view a sample of the results Dr. Paulsen has achieved for some of his liposuction patients view the Liposuction Gallery.

Despite a strict, healthy diet and strenuous exercise, some fat deposits won’t budge. With liposuction, the stubborn fat cells are removed from the problem area; giving you added confidence.

To determine if you are a good candidate for a liposuction schedule a consultation with Dr. Paulsen to discuss your goals. Dr. Paulsen will work collaboratively with you to develop a customized surgical plan based on your desired outcome and body type.

Do I need liposuction?

Almost everyone seeks a quick-fix when it involves body shape and weight. Liposuction is not the answer to weight loss. But, if you are finding that there are areas of your body where unsightly fat will not go away despite your best efforts of diet and exercise, you may be an ideal candidate for the procedure.

What is liposuction?

Liposuction uses a tube, inserted through a small incision, to break off and suction out fatty tissue underneath the skin. Recovery time is quicker compared to plastic surgery procedures due to the size of the incision.

Liposuction can be used on almost any area of the body that retains fatty deposits like the thighs, abdomen, chin, neck, cheeks, knees, hips, buttocks and upper arm.

The ideal candidate is someone who is at appropriate body weight and in good health who has areas of fat they can’t tackle through diet and exercise. The surgery is usually an outpatient procedure lasting one to two hours.

The greatest benefit of liposuction is its permanence when applied with a healthy diet and exercise.
